Course Description: 

 

This is the third module of the Advanced level. In this module, learners will review, consolidate, and expand their grammatical knowledge of syntax and morphology through the reading, translation, and analysis of classical and authentic texts. 

 

Module Content: 

 

Revision of syntax and morphology through application to texts:

-       Negation (verbal and nominal sentences)

-       Adverbial forms 

-       Pronouns (including types of relative pronouns)

-       Weak roots

Preliminary Texts include: 

o      النجوم في فلك النبوة

o      دروس من السيرة النبوية

o      فوح الرياحين

o      الأربعون النووية

 

Course Prerequisites:

Learners will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of all the basic and intermediate level grammatical topics and a satisfactory range of vocabulary, and a grounding in the nuances of the content covered in the first two Advanced Beginner modules. Their placement in this module will be determined through learners’ responses to the placement test or completion of previous modules.

Course Requirements:

Students are expected to attend 2 online classes each week, complete weekly assignments, submit a personal project and a final exam.

Arabic Program Policies

This is an online course so students will need:

  • Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance. 
  • Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation. 
  • To access the live class and recordings, students will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet/iPad with the Zoom app.

Live attendance is recommended whenever possible for the best learning experience. Recordings of the sessions will be made available for registered students who cannot attend live.
