Ribaat Retreat 2022

Ribaat retreaters

When: August 17th - 21st, 2022

Where: Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center

Venue Address: 54165 Audubon Drive, Sandstone, MN 55072

Venue Website: https://ospreywilds.org/

The annual Ribaat Retreat brings together the Ribaat students, faculty, and staff for an unforgettable in-person experience. Learning takes place in small and large group settings, a rigorous worship schedule helps participants put their ibadah on the right track for the year to come, and the community of beloved teachers and fellow students brings home the spirit of Ribaat.

The theme of this year's retreat is aqidah, and talks and activities will focus on the strengthening and solidifying of faith. Days will be filled with learning, personal growth, and worship through whole and small group activities, student-to-student interaction, and in-person time with teachers. Evenings and nights will be spent in worship, prayer, and Quran reading. A detailed schedule will be shared with registered retreaters upon arrival.

The Ribaat Retreat is open to current and former Ribaat students ages 17 and above.

Returning Students: If you have ever registered in a Ribaat course or workshop, even if you were unable to complete it, you are welcome to attend.

New Students: If you have never taken a course, you may register for the retreat and will be automatically enrolled in a course for the upcoming term. The course registration fee of $125 will be added to your retreat fee. Alternatively, students new to Ribaat can register in any current Ribaat course, workshop, or workshop recording.

Policy on children

To allow students and team members to focus fully on the program, children and infants may not accompany retreaters. All attendees must be full participants, women, ages 17 and older.

Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19

To ensure everyone's safety, and that of our families and loved ones, all attendees must be fully vaccinated and up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations. Registrants are required to present proof of vaccination before registration. The retreat guidelines will follow the CDC regulations in regards to masking and social distancing at the time of the retreat, and pending further developments, attendees may be required to present a negative COVID test upon arrival.

Retreaters will be assigned to their accommodations upon arrival at the venue. All facilities are shared with other attendees. Accommodations are all cabins or dorm-style housing with bunk beds.

Preference for lower or upper bunks will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis to those who make their payment first.

A full packing list will be sent prior to the retreat. Attendees will be provided with bedding (pillow, sheets, blanket or sleeping bag) and a towel. Retreaters will be expected to keep their accommodations tidy and clean.

The wi-fi available at the venue will not support a livestream, so it will not be possible to livestream the retreat. There is some wifi, however, that may be available for retreaters to use social media etc. during break times.

Preference will be given to attendees with accessibility needs. If you have a medical condition, require a lower bunk, or accessible bathroom and shower kindly inform the retreat team as soon as possible so that appropriate accommodations can be reserved.

There will be 3 catered meals per full day, with dinner on the day of arrival, and breakfast the morning of departure. Beverages and snacks will also be available throughout the day.

All meals will be halal zabiha. For special dietary needs or allergies, please let the retreat team know well in advance.
