Welcome to the very first intergenerational Rabata Winter Retreat in collaboration with The Islamic Seminary of North America (TISA). This retreat experience is designed to facilitate and strengthen relationships between Muslim women. The Rabata team is looking forward to creating positive cultural change to foster healthy relationships between mothers, daughters, and female relatives in an effort to build wholesome connections and create lasting memories.


The theme of the retreat is relationships. Talks and activities will focus on strengthening and solidifying connections between Allah swt and each other. Days will be filled with learning, personal growth, and worship through group activities, student-to-student interaction, and in-person time with teachers. Evenings and nights will be spent in worship, prayer, and Quran reading. A detailed schedule will be shared with registered retreaters upon arrival.


The retreat is open to girls and women of all ages. Programming will be geared towards attendees ages 7 and older.  

While girls younger than 7 are able to register to attend, please note activities they may be able to participate in will be limited. Babysitting will not be provided.

Policy on children

To allow retreaters and team members to focus fully on the program, girls and infants who are disruptive will be asked to step out until they are able to participate quietly. Girls under 18 years of age remain the responsibility of their mother or legal guardian. Parents must be responsible to know where their girls are at all times and cannot be left unsupervised or in the care of an underage sibling.

COVID-19 Measures

Vaccination against covid 19 is highly recommended and we request that all attendees are vaccinated to ensure the safety and health of all attendees and our families. 

Attendees may come with knowledge of the risk as we will not be able to ensure social distancing or protection from any illness or virus.


Retreaters will be assigned to their accommodations upon arrival at the venue. All facilities are shared with other attendees. Accommodations are all cabins or dorm-style housing with bunk beds.

A full packing list will be sent prior to the retreat. Attendees will need to bring bedding (pillow, sheets, blanket or sleeping bag),  towels and prayer rug. Retreaters will be expected to keep their accommodations tidy and clean. 

The wi-fi available at the venue will not support a livestream, so it will not be possible to livestream the retreat. There is some wifi, however, that may be available for retreaters to use social media etc. during break times.


Preference will be given to attendees with accessibility needs. If you have a medical condition, require a lower bunk, or accessible bathroom and shower kindly inform the retreat team as soon as possible so that appropriate accommodations can be reserved.


There will be 3 catered meals per full day, with dinner on the day of arrival, and breakfast the morning of departure. Beverages and snacks will also be available throughout the day.

All meals will be halal zabiha. For special dietary needs or allergies, please let the retreat team know by December 15, 2022.

Travel arrangements

Tuesday, December 27, 2022

  • Arrive at the Ascend Camp & Retreat Center at 3 pm CST, 5236 Kiwanis Rd., Dallas, TX 75236 
  • 3:00 - 5:30 pm: register, settle in, take walking tour, browse Rabata stations
  • 5:30 pm: Maghrib and retreat schedule will begin

Friday, December 30th, 2022

  • 9:00 am: Retreaters will depart from Ascend Camp & Retreat Center to the DFW airport in a charter bus
  • Returning flights should be scheduled after 12:00 pm

In the event a retreater needs to arrive/depart outside of the coach timings stated above, transportation between the airport and Ascend Camp & Retreat Center will be the responsibility of the retreater. 

Registration Fees

Registration will open September 1st. Spots will be reserved only once payment is received, and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.


We are honored to offer this highly discounted registration rate due to the support of our collaborating partner TISA. Each registrant (girls and women ages 3+) is $250

For girls under 3, there is no payment and a bed will not be provided. Mothers may co-sleep on a bunk or bring a small travel cot for girls under 3.

Rabata is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. As such, all registration fees go towards the costs of running the retreat.

The registration fee includes:

  • accommodations
  • meals
  • beverages
  • snacks
  • a welcome packet
  • transportation between Ascend Camp & Retreat Center and the airport on the day of departure 

The registration fee does NOT include airfare to and from Dallas or transportation from the airport on the day of arrival. 

Installment Plans

If registering before September 30th, total payment can be divided into three monthly installments. 

If registering between Sept. 30 and Oct. 30, total payment can be divided into two monthly installments.

After Oct. 30th, all registration fees must be made in full. 

Registration will not be confirmed until at least one payment is made, and all payments must be made before November 30th to reserve your spot. After this date, incomplete registrations may be assigned to a student on the waitlist.

Payment can also be made in full to reserve your spot immediately.

Refund Policy

Refunds can be provided any time before October 15th. After this date no refunds will be possible.

Financial Assistance

A limited number of partial scholarships will be available. A separate scholarship application is required. More details are in the registration form. 

Scholarship recipients will pay a partial registration fee of $100 and need to make their own travel arrangements between home and the Ascend Camp & Retreat Center. Scholarships are subject to availability.

Partial Attendance

Full attendance at the retreat is highly recommended to achieve the full benefit from the carefully planned curriculum. In the case a student needs to arrive late or depart early, there will be no partial attendance fees. All retreaters will need to pay in full even if they will not be attending the entire retreat.
