Daylight savings time will end in the United States on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Depending on where you live, this may or may not affect your class timing. In countries where DST is not applied at all, class will be one hour later starting November 7.

Prerequisites:

  1. Students should be women above the age of 17.
  2. TAJ 101 & 102: “Quran Fluency Parts 1 & 2”.
  3. TAJ 201: “Tajwīd Part 1: Letters & Phonetics”.
  4. TAJ 202: “Tajwīd Part 2: Rules & the Rhythm of Recitation”
  5. TAJ 301: “Quran Khitmah Project”
  6. ARA 100: “Introduction to Arabic” 
  7. Arabic Level 1: ARA 101, 102, 103, 104 
  8. Arabic Level 2: ARA 201, 202, 203, 204
  9. Ability to read the Holy Quran fluently with full application of the rules of tajwīd and few errors.
  10. Knowledge of the points of articulation (makhārij), letter attributes (ṣifāt), and all tajwīd rules.

Placement:

New students in the Ribaat Tajwīd Program should complete an assessment with a tajwīdassessor. Based on that, they will receive a recommendation on the best course to start with. Course Description: 

A self-paced memorization course, students will complete memorization of Juzu Amma and recite it to a tajwīd teacher. This is a two-part course:

  1. Students will attend a weekly online session with the instructor to follow up on their progress and receive inspirations and tips on memorizing the Holy Quran, achieving effective memorization, and overcoming hurdles.
  2. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwīd teacher online, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has recited Juzu Amma from memory with full tajwīd and passed an oral assessment of the entire juzu.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, complete a term paper, submit a midterm and a final exam.

This is an online course so students will need:

  • Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance. 
  • Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation. 
  • To access the live class and recordings, students will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet/iPad with the Zoom app.

Registration Fee: Non-refundable, non-transferable

Students will have access to course forums, recordings, and files until January 12th, 2022.
